Hello loyal Ecological readers! This is Adi Davis, member of the Ecological team, reporting live from Merida, Mexico at the World Wilderness Congress. The World Wilderness Congress is a congregation of people from all over the world all convening to lobby for the protection of Wilderness and other such things as...RECYCLING!!
I am writing this here on my lunch break, it is 2:22 here, and it is raining, fortunately I am in doors today.
The Morning ceremony just ended. It was absolutely amazing, a tribal leader from Brazil talked and presented a movie and gave a speech on his peoples fight to keep their 500 thousand acre part of the Amazon rain forest from being cut down and used for paper. Also a women from IUCN, an organization thats wants to protect biodiversity, talked as well and gave an over view of what needed to happen in the world so we can save its animals.
My dear friend, Mckenzy Haber also gave a 8 minuet speech on his idea of what is happening to the earth and that we have to be the young people have to be the voice to change it. Hey, thats the Ecological Girls! And wait to go Mckenzy, I can't believe to gave a speech in front of 2000 people. WOW!
Tonight, the Congress will be visited by the Mexican President, which I am looking foreword to.
I have to go back to the sessions right now. Over and Out!
Sincerely,
Adi Davis
